All information that is shared during therapy sessions is kept strictly confidential and securely stored via the JaneApp software. Your records will not be disclosed to others without your explicit permission, with the following exceptions to keep in mind:

  1. During supervision - general information will be provided to discuss treatment planning

  2. If there is an imminent risk of serious harm to yourself or others

  3. If there are concerns of abuse or neglect involving a minor or vulnerable individual

  4. A court issues a subpoena for your records.

Your Consent and Rights

Before any information is collected, used, or shared, I will obtain your informed consent. This may be provided in writing, verbally, or through clear actions indicating agreement, such as starting treatment.

 

You Have the Right to Ask Questions and Modify Consent

You may inquire about what information is being collected and why. You also retain the right to modify or withdraw your consent at any time, unless legal obligations require otherwise.

 

Protection of Your Information

Your records are kept secure, whether in physical or electronic form. Access is limited to authorized professionals who require the information to provide appropriate care.

 

Risks Associated with Electronic Communication

If you opt to communicate via email, text message, or video, your therapist will discuss the potential risks involved. Your permission is required before using these methods.

 

Notification of Any Data Breach

In the event that your personal health information is lost, stolen, or disclosed without authorization, you will be promptly informed. Such incidents may also be reported to the relevant privacy authorities.
