My Story

Alicia is a registered psychotherapist (qualifying) with the College of Registered
Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), registration number 11872, and is a member of the
Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). Alicia has a Master of Arts in
Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and has experience working with adults from
various walks of life, helping them navigate moments of crisis, loss, and transition. She has 10
years of experience working in mental health crisis counselling with Durham Mental Health
Services utilizing solution focused interventions. Alicia has trained in various psychotherapeutic
modalities such as solution-focused brief therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy and emotions
focused therapy while continually taking a trauma informed and anti-oppressive approach.
Approach
Alicia adopts a client-centered approach, meaning that you are the expert of your own life and
she collaborates with clients to foster personal growth. Alicia’s role is to listen deeply and
support you in exploring your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a way that cultivates self-
awareness and healing. In Alicia’s therapy practice, she prioritizes creating a safe, compassionate
space where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered.
